Responsibilities:
The Communications Specialist is responsible for managing all agency communications and social media activities.
This role also assists the development team with fundraising, outreach, event planning, and other development activities with the goal of increasing revenue and raising awareness for the organization.
The Communications Specialist reports to the Development Coordinator.
This is a part time (10- 20 hours per week) position.
Essential Functions:
Maintain up-to-date agency website and social media presence across various platforms, including e-newsletter campaigns for both volunteers and donors Assist in the creation and mailing of agency's annual report and direct appeal letters Develop and execute online fundraising campaigns Create and maintain graphic design elements for website and promotional materials ? Assist in the planning, execution, and evaluation of fundraising events ? Help create and implement the agency's annual development plan ? Working Conditions:
Primarily working in a combined shelter and office environment.
Hybrid work schedule is possible.
Position requires occasional weekend and evening hours.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong communications background is required, including experience with social media and website content management Experience with graphic design is required ? Excellent verbal and written communication skills ? Organizational and time management skills ? Ability to work independently and as part of a team ? Strong attention to detail ?
